Archbishop of New Orleans announces plans for local consecration of Ukraine and Russia

Archbishop Gregory Aymond

Pope Francis has communicated with all of the bishops of the world encouraging us to join him in consecrating Ukraine and Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. He will be offering the prayers of consecration on the Feast of The Annunciation, this Friday, March 25. In keeping with the desires of the Holy Father and to pray for peace in our world, I will join him in prayer by consecrating Ukraine and Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in unison with Pope Francis and bishops of the world at 11 am on Friday, March 25. This will be live streamed via the archdiocesan Facebook page and website. I will repeat the consecration during the 5 pm Mass on Friday for the Feast of Annunciation at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Prompt Succor in New Orleans.

As was previously announced I will again consecrate Ukraine and Russia along with the Archdiocese of New Orleans to the Immaculate Heart of Mary at the 9 am and 11 am Masses at St. Louis Cathedral on Sunday, March 27.

All of these Masses are open to the public and will be live streamed. All are welcome to join in prayer in person or at home. I expect to receive a copy of the prayer that Pope Francis will use for the consecration this week. Once it is received, it will be placed online and made available to the clergy, religious, and laity of the Archdiocese of New Orleans.
