Don't forget, everyday this week is another Easter because Easter is an Octave

Easter is celebrated as an Octave because 8 is enough!

For many of us the evening hours means Easter is over.  Since Easter is celebrated in the secular world, the world has moved on, Easter is done.  Thankfully, the Church understands the significance of the Resurrection and celebrates Easter as an Octave.  For eight days, we celebrate Easter as a Solemnity of the Church.  The Mass every day this week will be as if it is Easter Sunday.  Yes, the readings are different, as we continue to journey through Easter, but the celebrations of daily Mass this week is an Easter celebration.

For the next 8 days we will continue to proclaim the Easter alleluias.  We continue to celebrate Easter!
