Cardinal Parolin to represent Pope Francis at Coronation
By Vatican News
The Vatican Secretary of State will represent Pope Francis at the Coronation of King Charles III.
A statement released by the Holy See Press Office on Thursday said the Cardinal Secretary of State will be present in Westminster Abbey on Saturday 6 May 2023, in representation of the Pope and the Holy See.
The coronation will be the first since Charles’s mother, Elizabeth II, who died in September 2022, was crowned in June 1953.
The ceremony will be transmitted live and in full by Britain's public broadcaster, the BBC.
