Archdiocese in Omaha says Mass will resume May 4th

OMAHA, Neb. —
The Archdiocese of Omaha announces Mass will resume starting May 4th. This includes all Catholic churches in Omaha and Lincoln.
“I am grateful that soon we will be able to welcome parishioners back to our churches for Mass. We will work within the necessary restrictions for everyone’s safety. We continue to pray for those who lead our local and state governments, those who shape our public health policies, all suffering from COVID-19 and those who care for them,” Archbishop George Lucas said.

Friday, Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts began easing restrictions on the state due to COVID-19.
Churches will be allowed to resume services as long as they adhere to keeping six feet between people of different households. Passing of items between congregants is not allowed.
Diocese officials said it will continue dispensation from attending Sunday Mass and Holy Days, explaining that people can continue to choose if they want to attend Mass.
