At Mass today, what did you observe as we deal locally with the Coronavirus crisis

Mass today was lightly attended compared to a "normal" Sunday yet more people were there than I had previously thought.  In addition to no communion from the cups, we did strongly encourage no physical contact at sign of peace and after Mass.  In fact, in our parish, we decided to process in and recess out via the door in the sacristy.  We also emptied all holy water fonts.  After Mass we disinfected touch points throughout the Sanctuary.  I noticed that many attending brought their own hand sanitizer, as we on the altar used hand sanitizer as well.  An additional thing to consider: we passed the basket that does not have handles so we might want to visit this issue.

Yet Mass was indeed Mass; the Word of God was proclaimed and opened for all to consider and understand, the one true Sacrifice of Calvary was re-presented in an un-bloody manner and all who wished to receive Holy Communion could do so.

For me, as a Deacon, it was odd in some respects but every bit what Mass is all about.

What did you encounter/witness today at Mass and also, where you live did you even have a Mass to attend?

Thanks for your feed back.  Stay tuned as the situation with Coronavirus is changing.

Call upon Gods help always!
