Magical season indeed and the magic will continue all the way to January 13th in the College Football National Championship game. While the opponent is yet to be named, it appears early on that it will be Ohio St.
LSU did the unimaginable tonight in taking on #4 ranked Oklahoma and long-time nemesis Jalen Hurts. The game was a one sided track meet as LSU scored n passing play after passing play on the way to 49 first half points and a 35 point halftime lead. Joe Burrow should win a 2nd Heisman trophy just for tonight; 7 throwing TD's and a running TD as well. He also passed for just under 500 yards. He is the best college QB in 2019 bar none. The WR's were lights out this day but most especially Justin Jefferson who caught 4 TD passes. The OL was stellar and the defense did a good job of controlling a good team with an awesome QB of there own. Most of Oklahoma's 28 points came when the game was clearly in hand.
Another stellar job by Coach Orgeron who has become quite the head coach among all coaches. He has simply been the field general from day 1. And special mention to coach Steve Ensminger, coaching tonight with a heavy heart having found out that his daughter-in-law was killed today in a terrible airplane crash in Lafayette and headed to the game. All our prayers and condolences to the Ensminger and McCord families on the loss of Carley McCord.
So LSU can sit back and watch the game between Ohio St and Clemson; so far all Ohio St, and prepare to defend home field in the Championship game in New Orleans.
A truly magical season; may the magic continue for these LSU Tigers!
