This is our faith, we are proud to profess it in Christ Jesus our Lord

Inspired by this weekend's homily posted by Deacon Greg Kendra (which should be heard by every Catholic including the Clergy):
During the rite of Baptism the Creed is expressed in the Baptismal vows that the parents and God-parents respond to on behalf of the child to be Baptized.  At the end of the Baptismal Promise the clergy presider says the following:  This is our faith, we are proud to profess it in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Like many of you I am beyond disgusted and even angry at the horrible details in the Pennsylvania report, am disgusted and angry at the details, even more yesterday, from the entire McCarrick scandal.  I join the voice of millions of Catholics who say this cries to Heaven for justice and to each victim our full and total support.  And all of us who are Catholic say to the abusers and the cover-up artists you don't get to define who and what the Church is.  How dare you.   The Church is who Christ says She is and She deserves our best effort to be Christ and bring Christ to the other without any harm or hurt done to the other, especially when you lie to a vulnerable human being that this is done in the name of the Church.  You are wrong and your behavior is both sinful and criminal.
The Church is not these men, She is all the dedicated people who serve the Body of Christ in simple and heroic ways.  And She is the message and mission of Jesus.  She is the words, put into action, of the Creed.  And this is our faith, we are proud to profess it in Christ Jesus our Lord!
