Have not posted much about the recovery of Wendy's mom much lately, for the most part her physical rehab has gone well and all the major problems we shared with you seemed to diminish. At a routine doctors appointment this week they discovered a rapid and irregular heart beat and decided, to be safe, to get her back to the hospital. Her heart was beating as fast as a160 bpm; way too high.
Fast forward to yesterday evening and she began complaining of shortness of breath and after a few medical tests to check things out it was determined that something was indeed wrong and she was intubated for the second time in a month. Doctors have determined today that her heart function is at a dangerously low 15% and she has a good bit of COPD to deal with.
Needless to say the family is disappointed in the setback, still awaits more clear concise answers and may be facing several difficult and important decisions as time marches on. For now we are simply asking for prayers and more prayers as we navigate this difficult family time.
