I have had many posts about the beautiful Benedictine Community that lies on the northshore of New Orleans, only about a dozen miles or so from my house. Among many things the monks of St. Joseph Abbey:
Run the minor seminary for the Gulf south in St. Joseph Abbey College
Conduct one of the largest Catholic youth gatherings in the deep south known as the Abbey Youth Fest
Offer a beautiful cemetary with perpetual care
Offer affordable, dignified caskets for sale
Run a wonderful serene retreat center
Have beautiful liturgies and chant daily the Daily Office
And so much more
