THANKS TO GOVERNOR EDWARDS

My heartfelt thanks to Governor Edwards for submitting a letter of consent to Secretary Pompeo regarding President Trump’s Executive Order 13888. Governor Edwards’ consent marks the first step in continuing to allow Catholic Charities agencies within our great state to resettle refugees. 

The timeliness of this letter should not be lost. Symbolically, it says “There is room in the inn” for those who seek refuge from war, persecution or natural disaster within their country of origin. 

This is what Jesus would do and we want to be like him. Thank you Governor Edwards for helping us live the values of Jesus.
