So for now, great job by the LSU Tigers

I doubt too many folks, even the most die hard among Tiger fans, expected a 3-0 start to the 2018 football season.  After all, there would be a game against highly regarded Miami on the road at a neutral site, and then SEC rival Auburn at Auburn.  Add to that LSU was unsure about the QB position putting all their hopes in a transfer from Ohio St, no quality name in like 100 years at both RB and WR and a still good defense but one decimated by those now playing in the NFL.  Then there is the all year debate if Coach O is a real college football head coach and how can a, I don't know, 100 year old offensive coordinator do anything.

Well we can fast forward to the end of week 3 and LSU is indeed 3-0.  They came out and mouth punched Miami, and yes, doing just enough to stay on top while the Hurricanes desperately tried to come back.  End of the night, the college football world is shocked that LSU knocked off the team ranked in the Top 10.  The SLU game was not the least bit exciting and at times SLU seemed to revel in some of their well executed plays but it was still quite simply a 31 point shutout.  But dial up Auburn, surely things will change.  Well, after taking the early lead and being in command, Auburn came back, LSU kept it close, then Auburn exploded again and then, out of nowhere, LSU turned into a 4th quarter juggernaut.  For the second time in 3 weeks, a Top 10 team was walking off the field defeated.  And at home!  LSU is 3-0!!

QB Burrow seems to be an effective field general although he does throw his fair share of incompletes.  But so far no interceptions!  Pretty good overall.  Then we find out that #4, Nick Brossette is a pretty good RB.  And yes, the defense is still pretty good.  And it looks like Coach O is very comfortable with Coach Ensminger along with Coach Aranda.

Look, it is a long season, there are plenty of landmines ahead; Alabama, Georgia, Texas A & M, to name but three.  Yet for now we can be pleased and impressed with the raw effort, drive and determination of the LSU football Tigers.

As Coach O always says, Geaux Tigers!
