Message to Young People, the Sick and Newlyweds
“Lent is a favorable time to intensify your spiritual life,” was Pope Francis’ invitation to young people, the sick and the recently married, on the occasion of the General Audience of Wednesday, February 28, 2018, held in the Vatican’s Paul VI Hall.
At the end of the Audience, the Pope said to them in Italian:
“Dear young people, the practice of fasting may help you, to acquire greater mastery over yourselves.”
“Dear sick, prayer is for you, a means to entrust your sufferings to God and always to feel close to Him.”
“Dear newlyweds, may the works of mercy help you, dear newlyweds, to live your married life always oriented towards the needs of your brothers.”
