In the second half of our week long celebration of life with Calvin during this, his 2nd birthday week!! Wendy and I have been on the ground here in Greensboro with #1 grandson and it has been a priceless visit. We have had swimming adventures, a couple of lunches about town, a visit to ChuckECheese and fun with backyard playtime! Today, Calvin went to school, and Nona & Pops get to pick him up for a lunch date. Still to come this week is a trip back to the zoo, where Calvin loves the Tigers(just like he will learn to love the LSU Tigers) and then the big #2 birthday bash on Saturday. The sadly, Sunday begins the long ride home for two grandparents who just live too far away!
Calvin really knows us by now; what with the constant Skype visits and our 4 times a year visitations. He still prefers mom & dad, as he should, be he truly is comfortable with Nona & Pops. Of course Calvin is still calling me Pots and it's too cute to worry about. As first time grandparents it truly is special to see the growing up of a child you love who is not your own child, which of course is our only experience with watching kids grow up. You start to see the changes in personality and educational development as well as physical changes, but it is great to see first hand!
Yesterday we caught this pic of Calvin who was being thoroughly entertained by the house band at ChuckECheese:
