The Miraculous story of Deacon Ken Conklin

‘MIRACLES SURROUND US!’: AN UPDATE ON DEACON KEN CONKLIN OF KNOXVILLE

You may remember the poignant story of Ken Conklin, who was diagnosed with cancer and was ordained as a permanent deacon ahead of his class by Bishop Rick Stika of Knoxville. Deacon Ken was in hospice care and, as the bishop wrote, “his time in this world is very limited.”

Sunday, the bishop posted this news on Twitter:

Miracles surround us! 7 weeks ago, I ordained a dying man as a permanent deacon. He was given 2-3 weeks to live. So I traveled to his home and surrounded by his class and family as we gathered on his deck overlaying a beautiful lake and mountains, he was ordained.

By the Grace of God and perhaps a miracle, this past Saturday, he traveled to his parish, All Saints, to assist at Mass and preach his first homily. He is getting stronger each day and his future on this earth is uncertain which is true for all but he made it! Miracles are real.
