Welcome to March who seems intent this year on coming in like a lion. Awful weather forecast across almost the entire country and indeed down here. It is a First Friday today so if possible, attend Adoration at your parish and the Benediction at the end of the day. Also First Friday means devotion to the Sacred Heart, all of us can pray the Litany of the Sacred Heart!
Hard to believe that Lent will finally be here come Wednesday. By now we are usually well into Lent but it's a late one in 2019. Remember, Ash Wednesday is NOT a holy day of obligation but getting to mass and receiving ashes is a very good thing to do. Ash Wednesday is a day of abstinence and fast.
And finally, I will be mostly off the grid this weekend with a wedding up in Little Rock Arkansas. I just hope that lion roaring March weather will let me out Sunday morning so I can be home plenty early before back to work Monday. Oh by the way, Tuesday is Mardi Gras so for me, a day off!
By then, we will be well caught up!
