Day two gave us several more early paragraphs of the Catechism with the following highlights summarized for you below:
In light of the 2nd Vatican Council and the whole of Church tradition, the Catechism has it's principal sources in Sacred Scripture, Fathers of the Church, Liturgy and Magisterium...
Those responsible for catechesis are Bishops, Priests and Catechists...
Catechism is useful reading for all...
4 pillars of the Catechism are the Creed, the Sacraments, the Commandments and the Lord's Prayer...
Part I is the Creed; to be able for the Christian to express his baptismal faith before all men...
One God in Trinity: the Father(creator), the Son(Lord and Savior) and the Holy Spirit(Sanctifier)...
Part II is the Sacraments...
Salvation is made present in the liturgy and the 7 Sacraments...
Part III focuses on the Commandments...
God's law and grace and charity as specified in the 10 Commandments...
Part IV is the Lord's Prayer...
The 7 petitions in this prayer sum up all good things hoped for and that which God wishes to grant...
Follow the Catechism of the Catholic Church everyday in this Year of Faith. Go to google and search for Catechism everyday or Catechism in the Year of Faith. Of course we can pick up our Catechism and dust it off too!!!
