A church in Old Mandeville that’s been fighting to grow into a new building has been told it can’t a second time.
Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church hoped to expand from its current location on Lafitte and Jefferson Streets to new building, which would be constructed across the street.
The proposal caused divide in the Old Mandeville community because of the size and parking concerns.
Last October, the city Zoning Board denied the church a permit to build, so it appealed to the courts, which Friday, agreed with the denial from the city.
Judge William Crain said the site plan did not meet the minimum requirements for parking so the decision was proper.

>>>Down here in our neck of the woods, Catholics are packed in tight to worship on Sundays.  I hope the good people of Our Lady of the Lake can think of another solution.
