Former Saints safety Steve Gleason suffers from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and has recently been working to bring the terminal neuro-muscular disease into the public light.
On Tuesday, he posted a YouTube video of a time lapse after he received a feeding tube.
Gleason was diagnosed with ALS a year ago. He has kept a positive outlook on life and is documenting his life since the diagnosis.
Along with the video, he posted on Twitter, “The realities of ALS. I Just got my feeding tube. Life ain’t easy. But it’s awesome.”
Gleason is best known for his blocked punt the night the Superdome reopened after Hurricane Katrina.
