We have a pope!
The College of Cardinals has elected Pope Leo XIV, formerly Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, the 267th successor of St. Peter. Pope Leo XIV was born in Chicago making him the first pope from the United States of America. He is 69 years old.
Please join us in praying for our new Holy Father!
O God,
you have chosen Pope Leo XIV,
as the shepherd of shepherds to lead your Church,
successor to the Apostle Peter and Vicar of Christ on earth.
Grant him wisdom and strength to govern with fidelity to your holy word,
and courage and compassion to build up your Church in unity and peace.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
