The recent scandals involving two priests – one for sexually abusing a minor in 2013 and the other for obscenity with women inside a church – have rocked the Archdiocese of New Orleans.
Archbishop Aymond said he was outraged and felt betrayed by those actions and asked for prayers for all victims of sexual abuse. Today, in a wide-ranging show of support, priests of the archdiocese gathered for prayer and discussion.
They prayed for all victims of sexual abuse and then authored a letter supporting Archbishop Aymond in his role as a spiritual leader willing to bring darkness to light and to offer healing to victims.
