Hail Mary and the Rosary; it’s all Scriptural

When prayed properly, focusing on each mystery, praying the Rosary brings us through many Scripture passages.  The joyful mysteries take us through Luke 1: 26-56, Luke 2: 6-51.  The sorrowful mysteries reflects on Matthew 26: 36-46, 27: 26-29, John 19:18 and Luke 23: 33-46.  The newer luminous mysteries, a gift to us all from the inspiration of St John Paul II, focuses on Matthew 3:13-17, Mark 1: 9-11, John 2:1-11, Matthew 4:13-17, 23-25, Luke 9:25, Matthew 17:1-8, Luke 22: 14-20 and Matthew 26:26-28.  Finally the glorious mysteries take us through Luke 24: 1-12, 50-5, Acts 2:1-4 and Revelation 12:1-17!

That’s a lot of a Scripture!!

Now we pray three prayers primarily when we pray the Rosary, the Our Father, completely Scriptural, the Glory Be prayer, acknowledging that God is Father, Som and Holy Spirit, also Scriptural and the Hail Mary, to the surprise of many also Scriptural.

Hail Mary full of grace.....Luke 1:28
The Lord is with you......Luke 1:28
Blessed are you among women......Luke 1:41
And blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.....Luke 1:42
Holy Mary, mother of God.......Luke 1:43
Pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.....James 5:16

We Catholics get bum raps from those who mostly call themselves Christian yet there is no Church more full Gospel, more Scriptural than Holy Mother Church, the Catholic Church, who, after all, under holy guidance and inspiration, gave the world the Bible, with all the books, 73 in all; yep, we know Bible!
