The death of a humble faithful Priest

Today we learned of the death of a faithful Priest of Christ, Fr. Joseph Cazenavette:

Fr. Joseph died after a valiant battle with cancer.  He was an incredibly holy man, a good man, a great Priest.  He was humble, he was faithful.  Fr. Joseph was so humble, rich in spirit and one of the finest homilist I've ever heard.  While he was battling that nasty cancer we got to be with him quite often as his parents reside in our parish.  He often visited with us and co-celebrated many a Mass.  He loved to hear confessions too.

There will be much more officially from the Archdiocese of New Orleans coming forward soon.  It should be noted that in addition to his service here, he worked in Washington D.C. for the USCCB.

He loved that so many prayed for him in life, during his battle against cancer and now in death he would be most desirous of our continued prayers.  Fr. Joseph always talked about never assuming nothing.  However, I am confident that this holy Priest today turned to Him, saw His face, and is saved.

God Bless you forever as you are a Priest forever in the line of Melchizedek!
