LSU has parted ways with head football coach Les Miles and I for one think this is a good move for LSU. Coach Miles, who has led the Tigers since the 2005 football season ran out of gas in his LSU coaching tank. It was high time at the end of last year but we all were way too sentimental. Hell, how can you not be; he is such a nice, decent man.
I have been frustrated with Coach Miles especially since the championship game at the end of that magical season of 2012. The 2013 through 2016 Tigers have been lackluster, not even inspirational in victory. Like I said earlier, the tank was dry.
But his decency has moved me to be somewhat sad at the departure of Les Miles. He has been part of the LSU and the larger Louisiana community family for quite some time. Apart from football, which did have more highs than lows, including an overall 78% winning percentage and one national championship, Les Miles helped us all after Katrina, the recent floods, the police shootings and other highly personal moments including this: http://www.theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/sports/lsu/article_fb03bed2-9071-5e45-9efd-6a66aa19932a.html
You will be missed Les Miles and I for one wish only the best for you and your family. You came here and you truly became part of the LSU family, the community of Baton Rouge and the state of Louisiana.
