Flooding in Diocese of Baton Rouge

As a result of the serious weather and flooding condition in certain parts of the Diocese of Baton Rouge I am dispensing from the Sunday mass obligations for all Catholics affected.
I am asking that church parishes in the affected areas cancel the vigil and/or Sunday masses for this weekend. Due to the inherent dangers of unsafe driving conditions, it would be best for parishioners to limit their driving tonight and tomorrow.
Please know of my prayers for your safety and the safety of your church parishes and parishioners.
