Prayers for Louisiana!

Starting Tuesday and continuing as we speak, Louisiana has/is being assaulted by rain.  The northern part of our state, places like Shreveport, Bossier City, Monroe, Alexandria, and more got it first and while their rain may be ending the damage is done.  Check out this video from Shreveport:

Meanwhile the system moves our way and places like Baton Rouge, Cajun country and places much closer to my home in Hammond and neighboring communities in my parish(county) are getting it now.  It is estimated we have received 7-8 inches of rain since 11 PM last night.  Just one parish to my west some areas has received 13 inches of rain.

Here is the problem, this rain is expected to continue until tomorrow afternoon.

Schools are closed, big weekend events. including the largest outdoor event for Catholic youth known as Abbey Fest in nearby Covington at St. Joseph Abbey are canceled.  St. Patrick's parades are in jeopardy.

Pray for us in Louisiana.
