My Sunday that I didn't see coming

I got another reminder today that we are certainly not in charge.  I had planned a very active at Church, assisting this morning at 9 AM Mass, helping out at our parish fund-raiser for a parishioner, observing RCIA meeting, and assisting tonight at our evening Mass.  Only one of these things happened, the 9 AM Mass.  After Mass my daughter arrived at the back of church to tell me my wife was home suffering chest pains and needed to get to the hospital.  Of course there is shock but little time to worry about shock.  There is a task at hand; let's get her to the hospital ASAP.  Wendy has been in the hospital all day and will be there for another day or two.  Thanks be to God, she did not suffer a heart attack but probably experienced a severe case of angina.  To be safe, the doctors and staff at the hospital will monitor her overnight then put her through several medical tests tomorrow.  Her cardiologist was very hopeful that some changes again in medication and perhaps some rehabilitative exercises will do the trick.  The key is the stress test, we want a clean stress test to avoid another evasive angiogram; poor thing has had more than a few.

Plans indeed get put on hold when things like this happen.  In my case today, I give thanks that this event was not as bad as it could have been.  Hopefully, she will bounce back again, as she has so many times.  Indeed, that is my prayer.

Wendy did get to Skype with Calvin and Katelyn from the hospital and that was medicine in itself.

This evening I received a second phone call from my daughter that her fiancé was hurt at work.  Seemed he had some sort of accident while training; he is a fire-fighter.  She seems to believe all is under control but now she is with him at one hospital after having spent most of the day with her mom at another hospital.  Tough day for her.

For those of you who knew of all this; thanks for the prayers!  For those compelled to pray going forward, please do so.  I would be so honored that you remember my little family in your prayers.  Prayers help us through these things; let's be generous in praying for one another.

I hope to update all tomorrow.  Good night and God Bless!
