This 1st night of July turned out to be a very wet night so a chance to read, blog, relax. As July gets underway we are prepared for plenty of big changes. One change that hangs over us with nothing but uncertainty is Wendy's employment status. After being blindsided and dismissed from a job she can do in her sleep she awaits the next best opportunity. Since it has yet to come along, Wendy is working hard on church projects and big family projects that are part of our upcoming changes. We are still soliciting prayers that Wendy soon finds a job that can use her talents and give her some joy & peace.
Change came to the abitadeacon this very day as my assigned parish responsibility transferred from Most Holy Trinity Parish to St. Jane de Chantal Parish. I am prepared to preach this weekend at 3 Masses and will be preaching at the other 2 Masses the following weekend. And did I mention already line-up for me are 3 Baptisms in the month of July. It's good to be home and I'm ready for my 2nd tour of duty at St. Jane's.
A huge change in our family dynamic takes place this weekend as Wendy & Elizabeth drive to Texas and return home with Wendy's mom. After living in Texas, in less than an ideal situation, she is moving home for good. I know Wendy is both happy and relieved that this is happening.
And speaking of family dynamic, July will bring the big reveal; what will be the name of #1 granddaughter. We can't wait to meet her; she is due to arrive in about 2 weeks. For now we just call her Calvin's little sister! Stand by for this big announcement! Of course a trip to North Carolina is certainly in our future!
Other changes will surely come, some anticipated, some not planned. One thing we were always taught in diaconate formation is change is inevitable; be flexible!
Changes are indeed coming with the month of July!
