Local Catholic High School girl prays thru Blessed Francis Seelos; brain tumor disappeared!

Absolutely Speechless......
I don't even know what  to say or where to begin...so I will start with yesterday.

Caroline had the toughest day yet undergoing 5 hours of extensive MRI's with contrast, and neuro tests that were going to help Dr. Boop determine the size, pressure and location of her tumor. Pending those results he was to discuss with Mark and Elizabeth exactly how the surgery would be executed. Needless to say this was by far one of the toughest days they've had.

Well, after the MRI, Elizabeth asked the neuro radiologist to please confirm that he indeed still saw a tumor. She asked this because since Caroline's Seelos' blessing on Sunday, she has repeatedly told anyone who would listen that she prays to Father Seelos, that her tumor will be gone, and has insisted that the doctors would not find anything when they tested her. WELL........Elizabeth asked him to confirm seeing a tumor after explaining Caroline's prayers and affirmation. He told Elizabeth that he saw something but not a tumor. He explained that he needed to spend more time studying it and needed to consult with Dr. Boop before giving a diagnosis.

Fast forward to this morning....8am continues Caroline's verbal and cognitive tests. 7am comes and the techs tell Caroline that she is going back for another MRI. She is furious, frustrated, exhausted both physically and mentally and absolutely not happy about this. Another 4 hours later and finally Dr. Boop comes in to discuss and confirm his findings. All the while they are continuing to prepare Caroline and her family for a very extensive brain surgery that although I did not ever discuss it here, they knew and were preparing for long term neuro defecits to her short term memory.

Dr. Boop can't find the tumor! He couldn't explain it! Saying that the scans today look nothing like what he saw last week. He does see something though. He said it could be blood on the brain that happened when she fell the first time, or that it could be a cluster of blood vessels that have formed. BUT HE SEES NO TUMOR! He said as a surgeon he had nothing to operate on....now.  BUT!!! In 6 weeks she will come back for another MRI scan and IF it was just blood that had pooled it should be gone and she is done. BUT!! IF it is the cluster of vessels, it would need to come out and she would have a brain surgery. The great news is that it would not be anywhere near as invasive or risky. Right now they just don't know and the really can't explain what happened over the past week. HOW AMAZING IS THAT!!!?? (My poor brain cannot process all of this!)

I pick up Harrison from school and decide that ice cream is in order before he heads with his grandmother and E's other best friend to Memphis. Elizabeth calls me with the news. She tells Harrison who is soo excited, he looks at me and says "Mrs. Gianna,  I think Father Seelos became a Saint today. With a big grin a said, "why Harrison?" And he says, "because Father Seelos only needed one more miracle to become a Saint and I'm pretty sure he just did it."

I cannot agree more....
