Social media: should it not be uplifting rather than hateful?

My hope and my prayer today is that we love social media, especially for the purpose of spreading the Kingdom, will always use this evangelization tool responsibly.  Can we truly say that our words lift other and never put others down?  Do we affirm those who read our posts, tweets and updates?

The latest example of cruel and harsh words in the wake of the death of Robin Williams should serve as a reminder that people can be mean and people can hate.  It is true here on social media too.

For me, social media is about preaching the Gospel always and when necessary use words!

And the words I use, hopefully, always advance the faith, belief in Christ Jesus and His Holy Catholic Church,

And I love your updates about family and life but quite frankly, I'm not so sure I care about your political rants and any hateful and harmful words.

And yes, I know, my posts about LSU and the Saints sometimes are foolish.  I committed to end that practice so hold me accountable this football season.

God is love, God created us in His image, therefore we are to love!!!  Demonstrate that love always; even on social media!
