With Easter, eight is enough!!!

Easter is the great feasts of feasts in the Church and is celebrated as an octave, a word meaning eight.  Basically, every day in an octave is the same day so Easter lasts throughout today and all the way to next Sunday.   Although the readings are different Holy Mass this entire week will be as if it is Easter Sunday, because it is!  And all the way through next Sunday, when we arrive at the Feast of Divine Mercy, it is Easter!  And that is just the day of Easter.

The season of Easter runs until we arrive at Pentecost Sunday, not until June.

So my advice is to soak up the real meaning of Easter, try and make a daily mass or two this week, be a resurrection people, with joy sing the Easter alleluia's!

Eight is enough, and the eight days of Easter has just begun!
