Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, as a Stewardship Parish, makes support for the needy part of every donation given to the parish. Recently the group shared $6,000 to support the Covington Food Bank.
“We tithe, set aside 10 percent of all regular donation made to the parish,” explained Fr. Rodney Bourg, pastor of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. “We then use these moneys to support the poor and needy in our local, national and international community.”
Margaret Schmidt, Pastoral Council member and Chair of the Social Apostolate at Most Holy Trinity, recently made the donation on behalf of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
In addition to monetary support, Most Holy Trinity collects food and supplies monthly for the Covington Food Bank. Parishioners and others can drop off donations at any time in the large storage box provided in the back of church.
Ann Malone, Board Member of the Covington Food Bank, said, “We at the Covington Food Bank have been overwhelmed by the generosity of the parishioners of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Their monthly food drives, donations for Coats for Kids program, sponsoring of children for the Christmas Angel Tree project, and this very generous recent donation have helped us tremendously to meet the needs of our clients at the Food Bank.”
