Blessed Father Francis Xavier Seelos was a Redemptorist priest who served in New Orleans in the 1800s. His powerful prayers of intercession resulted in the healing of countless people around the country with terminal illnesses, injuries, and troubled souls. He has been beatified because a miraculous cure was attributed to his intervention. As a result, "Blessed" precedes his name. He is one miracle away from sainthood.
