On the first Monday of October, it's the annual Red Mass in New Orleans

A tradition in the judicial world is that October marks the beginning of the new judicial year.  This is pretty common at the U.S. Supreme Court and at most the individual state's Supreme Courts as well.  In Louisiana, as happens in other states, the new court year is ushered in by the Red Mass, the coming together of judges, justices and many from the legal profession, to take time to pray and honor the all just law-giver!  As is always the case, the Red Mass in New Orleans is held at St. Louis Cathedral.  Archbishop Aymond presides at the Mass but this year he invited the Rector of the Archdiocesan Seminary, the Very Reverend James Wehner, to deliver the homily.  Tonight that homily is posted at the Archdiocese web-site.  It is a home run.  Please click the link below and read all for yourself, it will be well worth your time:
