A local celebration of two great feasts of the Church

Tomorrow is the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Saturday is the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.  The Feast of the Sacred Heart falls on the 1st Friday of June.  At my assigned parish of Most Holy Trinity in Covington, LA we will be having a 24 hour celebration.

Morning Mass will begin at 8:45 in the morning and the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed at the end of Mass.  Adoration will continue all Friday long and special prayer devotions will happen throughout the day.  There will be a devotion at noon, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy at 3, a Rosary at 6 and the Litany of the Sacred Heart and reflection on the 12 promises of the Sacred Heart at 7.

Adoration will continue throughout the evening and overnight, all the way until 8 a.m. Saturday morning.  At that time the Blessed Sacrament will be reposed and the Mass for the Feast of Mary's Immaculate Heart will begin.  This should conclude around 8:45; thus ending our 24 hour celebration/devotion.

If anyone is near the Northshore of New Orleans or even across the lake in the big city, how about coming to Most Holy Trinity Parish, spend an hour or two in Adoration and reflect on the grace of these two great feast days!
