Remembering Dr. Martin Luther King

Today we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King.  He simply fought with every fiber of his being for the civil rights of all people, especially those who were persecuted simply because of the color of their skin.  He fought without violence and he fought without hate.  He fought to the point of death and left us a legacy to carry on.

As a people we have made great strides but often suffer mighty setbacks.  We have come far and have still a long way to go.  On this day set aside to remember Dr. Martin Luther King who better to listen to than this great warrior for peace & justice:

As we pray every Sunday in the Catholic Churches in the Archdiocese of New Orleans:

may we put an end to violence, murder and racism.
