Sounds like a great title for a new movie but this comes pretty close to summing up my month of December so far. The four weddings are my focus tonight because a few hours ago that fourth and final wedding for the month was done! It's always a thrill to be asked to witness a wedding and I found myself earlier in the year willingly saying yes to these four couples. After all December seemed so far away. As December loomed near, all that paperwork, all those notes from four couples being prepped for the last six months, all the deadlines, all the requirements became a source of great anxiety. The anxiety is mostly self inflicted but real. When you take on the responsibility of a wedding, all the necessary requirements fall on you.
Despite the level of concern I felt as all the deadlines drew nearer eased with each successive wedding. All the hard work paid off as I am told by those who should know: the weddings were beautiful.
I do not intend this late Friday night post to be a long discussion of the Sacrament or all the required paperwork, etc. Instead it is to simply celebrate the four weddings and wish joy and happiness to the newlyweds. It was an honor to be the officiant and witness your vows and/or preapare your marriage preparation.
Congratulations:
Brian & Darlene
Rob & Sarah
Max & Jenn
Jay & Brittany
May you love and honor each other all the days of your lives...
