If you have followed my blog with any regularity I often post about the happenings within the diaconate community for the Archdiocese of New Orleans. From the day I was ordained in 2008 I have been drawn to the whole formation process and have been blessed to help out, with the class ordained in 2010 and now this 2012 class. Saturday past was the last class for the 2012 group; when we meet again it will be rehersal day this coming Tuesday. December 1, 2012 is ordination day when we can finally welcome 20 new Deacons to the community.
As is always the case, our Archdiocesan paper, the Clarion Herald, offers a brief portrait and biography for each of the candidates. There is also a special story on soon to be Deacon Leo Tran, who comes to ordination from his 1975 escape from the communists in Vietnam. Since the stories are lengthy I am providing a link below.
