Another big night with the focus on the state of Louisiana; LSU that is!

Louisiana once again will be the focus of the college football world as #5 LSU takes on #1 Alabama in Bato Rouge.  After last years national championship game between these same two football juggernauts, LSU sure would like to show up with some effect and efficient offense.  Unfortunately, the same offense that went missing last January in the Superdome has been the biggest source of disappointment for this edition of the Fighting Tigers.  The defense has once again been awesome and the special teams pretty awesome too.  It is the hope of the fans wearing the purple and gold that this same defense, coupled with a night game in Death Valley, Baton Rouge, will lead to that elusive upset.  Alabama has been pretty special this year; in fact many would argue this squad could be even better than the national championship team of a year ago.  This game tonight truly represents Alabama's only real danger to a potential undefeated season leading up to the SEC championship game.  And despite LSU's offensive woes and the decidely underdog status they face tonight, they are 7-1, did beat a then powerful South Carolina team, followed by a solid victory over Texas A&M, and could be the fly in the ointment for the Crismson Tide.

Baton Rouge, which has grown into a pretty huge urban center in post-Katrina Louisiana, is already and will continue to be party central for this warm November Sunday.  And with the upset, that party could last well into Sunday and beyond.

To gauge the importance of this game, here is what a national media source has to say about LSU vs. Alabama:

All I can say as a die-hard LSU fan: Geaux Tigers!!!
