Wednesday March 7th: I am in Abita Springs, LA. for my second mission of Lent. Quaint town and church. We are filming this mission for Television. Great crowds am and pm. Mon and Tues night they had to put out chairs. The filming is going beautifully. We have services Wed. 9 am and 7 pm. All are welcome. I'll also be recording an interview for Focus TV (who are producing this series for me) at 1 pm. We'll be talking about my book "God's Not Boring!" and youth in our church.
Last week I preached a mission in Mandeville, LA. The people couldn't have been better. We had huge crowds and sold lots of books. I'll never forget you all.
I pray you will have a fruitful Lent. May you discover God in new fresh ways. See my reflection at: LENT
Mar. 5-7: Abita Springs, LA. (New Orleans area) St. Jane de Chantel Church
>>>The above was taken straight off Fr. Cedric's website, where among many things, he keeps a daily blog. Today's entry was logged from beautiful downtown Abita Springs, nestled in the woods of the Northshore of New Orleans. Many of you will note that this is my hometown and my home parish. And for the first two years of my diaconate ministry, this was my first parish assignment before moving to Most Holy Trinity. I did myself a huge favor this week and rescheduled ministry work so I could attend this mission. Again, I actually sat in a pew for three consecutive nights with my wife.
Wendy and I stumbled across Fr. Cedric's TV program because it airs in the New Orleans market on Sunday mornings right before the Sunday Mass from our own St. Louis Cathedral. We both were taken with his preaching style and his message of God's love and mercy and the need to have a personal relationship with God. His use of humor and straight-talk allows one to hear the message with enthusiasm.
The three nights were more than memorable for both me and my wife. I am providing below a link to his website and I hope you stumble upon Fr. Cedric's ministry. You will not be disappointed!
