The patroness of the United States

As today's solemnity draws to a close we remember that Mary, under the title of the Immaculate Conception, is indeed the patroness of the United States.  The history of how this came to be along with a short history of Mary in these United States is included in an excellent article provided here:

As we celebrated this important solemnity today we here in the United States can call upon Mary's prayers and help as both the powerful witness she is, the saint that she is and the patroness of all of us here in America!
