LSU Tigers win a big one

On this early September Saturday with most of us being battered by Tropical Storm Lee, it was another Lee, Jarret Lee and a Les, Les Miles and an opportunistic LSU defense and all around team effort that has Louisiana smiling tonight.  The LSU Tigers destroyed the defending national runner-ups, the Oregon Ducks by a score of 40-27; and believe me; it was not even that close.

Besides the storm, this was a team with distraction after distraction these past few months.  And cut it anyway you want to, no Jordan Jefferson, no Russell Shepherd and playing the #3 team in the land; well nobody outside of Louisiana gave them a chance.  With the exception of ESPN's Lee Corso, no national sports guy wanted to believe in LSU.

We all know about the LSU tragedy that is the arrest and suspension of starting QB Jefferson.  But we also have the suspension of Russell Shepherd, the illness of coach Craigthorpe and the recent accident involving the cheerleading assistant coach.  All these distractions and no one thought LSU could win.

LSU just simply manned up, played good ball and won an important game!

You have to be proud of LSU; they represented our state so well tonight.  They won no matter what; they persevered!

Generations of Louisiana folks grow up loving LSU and that includes me.  And to have both my children as LSU alum's; nothing better.

Geaux Tigers!
