Happy Mother's Day

We have arrived at another Mother's Day and all I can say is Happy Mother's Day to all of you who have dedicated yourselves to being a Mom.  For me this is my 5th Mother's Day without my Mom who passed away just a few weeks before Mother's Day in 2007. My mom had plenty of struggles and bad breaks throughout her life but did everything she could for her 3 children, without her husband and our dad in our lives.  When she moved over to the Northshore and lived closer to us, we saw her much more and have great memories of dinners at her favorite restaraunt or shopping trips with my wife.  My greatest memory was seeing my mom, after many years, returning to the faith and sitting in old St. Jane Church.

My wife is a pretty incredible Mom.  She, by far, was the parent that took great care of both Jimmy & Elizabeth.  Now that they are grown I can look back with great fondness and respect on her giftedness at motherhood.  Next week when my daughter takes her diploma from LSU we will rejoice that both our children reached for and achieved their dreams.

Motherhood is a gift from God.  The best way to celebrate is to go to church with your Mom or wife.  and we all should bend a knee today and offer a prayer for our Mom's; thanksgiving to God for the gift of motherhood!
