This weekend was my introduction to the parishioners of Most Holy Trinity as their newest deacon. As reported earlier, as of last Sunday, I am no longer assigned at St. Jane's and begin my new ministry at Most Holy Trinity. While a formal farewell at St. Jane's has been arranged for next weekend, this weekend was one of those poweful ministry moments I will never forget.
I was asked to assist and preach at every Mass this weekend; that's 5 if you are counting. I was welcomed with much enthusiasm and open arms. The people of my new parish truly made me feel at home and part of the growing family of Most Holy Trinity. It was a little different preparing for today as I served at 4 masses starting at 7 a.m. and ending this evening at 6 p.m. But it was a special day. I believe that God has truly placed me where I'm most needed and I hope to serve Him and His people that is pleasing to Him and helps sustain the parishioners.
I was able to visit with several groups this weekend; the Seniors Group as they held a dinner meeting yesterday and the volunteers and children of our nursery and pre-K this morning. This afternoon I met several members of the youth group. This is a very active parish with many strong ministries.
So now I move forward from my big transition. While I will forever miss the great people, family and friends, of St. Jane Parish, I readily embrace my ministry at Most Holy Trinity. I look forward to many updates as I continue my service at Most Holy Trinity.
