Election 2012 is now in the books and the President beat back the challenge of Mitt Romney to earn four more years in the White House. President Obama apparently held off Romney in Ohio, other midwest states, and perhaps Florida to claim the electoral college. At the time of this writing, he also just went ahead of Romney in a razor thin popular vote count. Romeny plans to concede in the next few moments and Obama will claim victory sometime near 1 a.m.
Now what? I'm sure most people who value pro-life and are concerned about religious liberty are very disappointed tonight. They may be asking themselves, how could this leader, with a poorly performing economy and a culture of death, not be defeated? There are probably a myriad of answers including poorly run organizational efforts in these last days of the campaign by the Romney side. Does it really matter now? The election is just about in the books. Now what?
First we wake up in the morning and praise God. He is still on the throne and Jesus sits at His right hand to intercede for us. His mercy is still upon us. He still loves us. He still seeks communion with us. Rejoice in these facts! Put no trust in mere mortal man; place all your trust in Him!
I'm exhausted and may have more to say tomorrow. Not so much tonight! Pray for our country and her leaders. Pray for peace. Pray for life. Pray for religious freedom which will be under attack now for years to come.
Now what? Goodnight!
