Catholic Bishop Strickland speaks powerfully; seems opposed to many of his "brothers"

 

Catholic Bishop: 'A Dark Cloud Has Descended on This Nation'

Bishop Joseph Strickland, head of the Diocese of Tyler, Texas, warned that a "dark cloud" has settled over the United States because the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) and Planned Parenthood are both speaking in support of a Biden-Harris administration, a ticket that supports abortion without restrictions. 

It is the "slaughter of the Innocents," said Bishop Strickland.

"A dark cloud has descended on this nation when the USCCB and Planned Parenthood speak in unison in support of a Biden-Harris administration that supports the slaughter of innocents by abortion for all 9 months of pregnancy," said the bishop in a Nov. 10 tweet.

Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in the United States, endorsed Joe Biden for president earlier this year, along with his running mate, Kamala Harris.

On its Facebook page, Planned Parenthood Action says, "Congratulations to our 46th President, Joe Biden! You voted for change. You voted for your future. You voted for Joe Biden. The work is just getting started. Today, we celebrate; tomorrow, we get to work."

At the USCCB, its president, Archbishop Jose Gomez of Los Angeles, issued a statement on Nov. 7 that partly reads, "The American people have spoken in this election. Now is the time for our leaders to come together in a spirit of national unity and to commit themselves to dialogue and compromise for the common good."

"As we do this, we recognize that Joseph R. Biden, Jr., has received enough votes to be elected the 46th President of the United States," claims Gomez.  "We congratulate Mr. Biden and acknowledge that he joins the late President John F. Kennedy as the second United States president to profess the Catholic faith."

Joe Biden, while technically a "Catholic," supports abortion on demand, gay "marriage," gay adoption, and transgender women (biological males) playing in real women's sports and using their locker rooms. All of this is contrary to Catholic moral teaching.

What the Biden-Harris ticket supports in these areas has been condemned by the Church for centuries, and this teaching cannot change.

The "slaughter of the innocents" refers to the story in the New Testament (Matthew 2:16-18) when King Herod ordered the killing of all male children two years old and younger in the vicinity of Bethlehem.

This was Herod's attempt to kill the infant Jesus Christ. It also illustrates the evil of killing children, including by abortion. 

By supporting abortion, Biden and Harris are morally no different than Planned Parenthood and no different than Herod, and yet the USCCB congratulates Biden and claims he professes the Catholic faith.
