Important notice from the Archdiocese of New Orleans

Archdiocese of New Orleans

Notice on Churches Not in Communion with the Roman Catholic Church :

It has come to our attention there are questions being raised about some churches offering religious services in our archdiocese that are called Catholic but are not in communion with the Roman Catholic Church. We are aware of two churches about which there is some confusion:
Our Lady of Grace Church in Kenner, LA ...
Our Lady of Fatima Church in Lacombe, LA

These churches are not in communion with the Roman Catholic Church. In addition, there are Sunday services being held at the Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home in Reserve, LA which are described as Catholic but these services are not in full communion with the Roman Catholic Church.

Roman Catholics are advised that attending these churches or services does not fulfill one’s Sunday obligation because the churches or the priests offering the services are not in full communion with the Roman Catholic Church. If there are any questions about a particular church or service, please contact the Vicar General’s office of the archdiocese.

  1. Yes, both OLoGrace and OLoF in Kenner and LaCombe respectively are SSPX parishes

  2. Father Morel is no longer SSPX. He precedes in LaCombe.
