15 newly confirmed at Most Holy Trinity

Tonight was a night for calling down the Holy Spirit, red vestments, a visit from the Archbishop and another milestone moment in the life of the still very young parish of Most Holy Trinity!

15 young adults, escorted by their sponsors, parents, family and friends came into MHT tonight, pledged their lives to God and His Church and left confirmed in their faith and sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Archbishop Gregory Aymond presided tonight and, not just because he is my boss(actually he is my spiritual father), was brilliant.  He delivered just the right message to these young Catholics and related how they must be feeling(immediately before confirmation itself) like the Apostles right before Pentecost.  He talked about none of them being Superman before the Holy Spirit and then he said they became "spirit" men.  And all of our soon to be confirmed would too be "spirit" men, and women, and they are now being called to be witnesses.  Witness to those who try and talk them out of living their faith or missing Mass on Sundays or when a fellow student is being bullied or disrespected.  It was just the right message.

As one of two deacons from MHT I was asked by this class to be the Deacon of the Gospel so I was happy to proclaim the Gospel from St. Luke and then later, the intercessions.

The candidates were each brought forward, along with their sponsor, introduced to the Archbishop by their newly selected confirmation name, and he confirms them annointing them with oil.

After the Mass, the newly confirmed gathered with their confirming Archbishop and the Pastor for pictures.

Another confirmation is now over, and the Holy Spirit does his thing. And in the life of our young parish we now are blessed to have 15 newly confirmed; 3 of whom are still praying about a vocation!  And we get ready to do this all over again with our next group waiting in the wings.  What a blessing!
