Reality is very real

So Wendy's mom has been in hospital since Saturday when she fell in her apartment.  She fell because she was dizzy.  She was dizzy because she has congestive heart failure, wicked a-fib and low blood pressure that can be dangerous.  It was, if you will, the perfect recipe for disaster.

She has now spent 5 full days in a hospital and is not getting stronger; she is so weak that standing is a challenge, walking damn near impossible.  She will need physical therapy but is having trouble being approved for a stay at the facilities that specialize in this treatment.

Family is always an interesting thing when things get real like this.  My wife is by her mom's side everyday, despite her own physical impairments.  There are other family members in the area that help as they can.  Wendy has a sister in the area; no help at all.

So we deal with the current reality, much of "our" life on hold, Wendy is taxing herself to levels that concern me but it is her mom.
