Home tonight in the comfortable familiar confines of Casa Talbot. Still we are missing our NC family and our Calvin & Katelyn! Lots of great memories and pictures and a promised Skype date this coming Sunday!
My wife was a sport today because she knows I like to start moving early and early we left. Driving out of the hotel parking lot by 6 AM is huge for Wendy and it helped us get off to a good start. We made our 1st detour to buy peaches at world famous Abbot Farms in Cowpens, SC and then made it to Atlanta just before lunch time rush. Thankfully, by 11:40 AM we were thru Atlanta and headed south.
Lunch happened around Anniston, AL which is not too far from the world famous Talladega Speed Way, one of the great racing sites in the deep south. We avoided bad weather all day until on cue crossing into Mississippi brought rain.
Going the back way thru Bogalusa, LA we arrived at home at 6:15, 13 hours from the time we left. And that counts the stops mentioned above and a few gas and nature stops too!
So once home from visiting the grandkids my theory is run, not walk, into projects. I'm completely unpacked and my clothes are in the wash. Tomorrow morning I will be at church for a special Saturday morning including some law enforcement appreciation. Sunday it's two Masses at St. Jane's and birthday celebration time for #1 daughter Elizabeth and her fiancée Mark, both being born on September 13th, just one year apart.
So I'm at my station blogging away, TV on some good stuff, looking forward to Friday Night Football, a local prep football TV show and ready to sleep in my bed!
