Another milestone(kind of)

Today is the 22nd birthday of my baby girl Elizabeth.  I so wish her all the best and God's many blessings on this wonderful day.  My wife and I enjoyed an awesome Saturday evening visit with her for her birthday as today is a full day of classes and work.  She is basically spending her first birthday in surroundings a little unfamiliar as she has only been living in Mississippi for a month and in graduate school for 3 weeks.

It is amazing that you can relive vivid memories of the day your children were born when the birthday rolls around.  I was a much younger aggressive loan officer in 1989, living in the New Orleans suburbs and excited about the much anticipated birth of our second child.  Her older brother, Jimmy, was already 11 years old and was equally excited about the birth of her younger sister.

Elizabeth's birthday today is a milestone for me and Wendy as we no longer have any "under-age" children.  Of course Elizabeth will always be our "baby".  As parents we stand back and marvel at God's graces in our lives as our children persevere and make us proud.  Jimmy is a very good and well respected veterinarian in North Carolina and Elizabeth is just embarking on her graduate school career in the magnolia state.  Both are graduates of LSU; the best damn university in the world and home of the Fighting Tigers!

So I just wanted to acknowledge Elizabeth's birthday here on my blog and give you a little insight to the Deacon's proud station in life to be dad to two great children.

Happy Birthday Elizabeth; praying God's abundant blessings to you and always stay close to Him!
